garbology orig. U.S.|gɑːˈbɒlədʒɪ| Also garbageology. [f. garbage n. + -ology; cf. garbologist.] W. Rathje's term for the scientific study of the refuse of a modern society; the investigation of material discarded by a society considered as an aspect of social science.
