Turonian, a. Geol.|tjʊˈrəʊnɪən| [= F. turonien, f. L. Turonēs: see prec. and -ian.] Denoting a subdivision of the Cretaceous or Chalk period and series of strata, answering to the ‘Lower White Chalk without flints’ of English geologists.
