Gideon U.S.|ˈgɪdɪən| [f. the name of an Israelite leader (see Judges vi. 11 ff.).] A member of a Christian organization of American commercial travellers, founded in 1899. Gideon Bible, a Bible purchased by this organization and placed in a hotel room, Pullman car, etc.
