ˈglotten, v. Sc. local. (See quot.)
1825–80Jamieson, Glotten (1) to thaw gently; (2) a river is said to be glottenit, when it is a very little swelled, its colour being somewhat changed, and the froth floating on its surface. Hence † ˈglotnit ppl. a., clotted. Of the eyes: ? Bloodshot.
