glycogenolysis Phys.|ˌglaɪkəʊdʒəˈnɒlɪsɪs| [f. glycogen + -o + lysis.] The hydrolytic breakdown of glycogen to glucose. Hence ˌglycogenoˈlytic a., of, pertaining to, or causing glycogenolysis.
