akathisia, acathisia Path.|ækəˈθɪsɪə| [mod.L., ad. Czech. akathisie (L. Haškovec in Sborn. Klin. v. Praze (1901–2) III. 193), Fr. akathisie, f. Gr. ἀ- priv. (a- prefix 14) + κάθισις sitting: see -ia.] Inability to sit; morbid fear of sitting. Also used joc. (quot. 1938).
