gomuti|gəʊˈmuːtɪ| Also gomuta. [ad. Mal. gĕmuti sugar-palm fibre.] A palm tree, Arenga pinnata, native to Malaya and the East Indies, and cultivated elsewhere, particularly in India; also, the fibre obtained from this tree.
