rectigrade, a. Zool.|ˈrɛktɪgreɪd| [ad. L. type *rectigrādus, f. rectus rect a. + grādus grade.] Walking in a straight line; applied to those larvæ which walk with a rectilinear body (Say Gloss. Entom. 1825), and to the class of spiders (Rectigradæ) which run straight forward (Mayne Expos. Lex. 1858). Cf. laterigrade. |
