greasing, vbl. n.|ˈgriːzɪŋ, ˈgriːsɪŋ| [f. grease v. + -ing1.] The action of the vb. grease. 1. a. Smearing, anointing, lubricating, etc. with grease. In Protestant literature of the 16th c. often used contemptuously for ‘anointing’, as practised by Roman Catholics.
