grindery|ˈgraɪndərɪ| [f. grind v.1 + -ery.] 1. Materials, tools, and appliances used by shoemakers, and other workers in leather. Quot. 1805 makes it probable that the term was orig. applied only to the whetstone used by shoemakers; then perh. to the tools sharpened on it, and finally extended to other ‘furnishings’.
