ˈundercloak, n. Building. Also under-cloak. [f. under-1 5 b.] The lower of two layers of building material used to form a watertight covering; spec. (a) the lower of two metal sheets whose edges form a joint on the flat; (b) a layer of material, usu. tiles or cement, laid under the outermost layer of tiles at eaves or verges.
