guerrilla, guerilla|gɛˈrɪlə, gəˈrɪlə| [a. Sp. guerrilla, dim. of guerra war. With the form guerilla cf. F. guérilla.] 1. An irregular war carried on by small bodies of men acting independently. Now somewhat rare.
