gynee|ˈgaɪniː| Also gaini, ghinee. [Hindi (related to go cow n.1).] One of a small variety of Indian cattle.
1829J. Shipp Mem. III. v. 132, I found that the said tiger had feasted on a more delicate morsel,—a nice little ghinee, a small cow. 1832F. Parks Jrnl. 1 Dec. in Wand. Pilgrim (1850) I. xxii. 251 We have become great farmers, having sown our crop of oats, and are building outhouses to receive some thirty-four dwarf cows and oxen (gynees), which are to be fed up for the table. 1873H.
