hadrosaurid, n. and a. Palaeontol. Brit. |hadrəˈsɔːrɪd|, U.S. |ˌhædrəˈsɔrəd| [‹ scientific Latin Hadrosauridae, family name (E. D. Cope 1869, in Trans. Amer. Philos. Soc. 14 91) > n. + -idae (see -id suffix3).] A. n. A bipedal herbivorous ornithopod dinosaur of the Upper Cretaceous family Hadrosauridae, whose members had beaked and often elaborately crested skulls; a duck-billed dinosaur, a hadrosaur.
