Hammond organ Mus.|ˈhæmənd ˈɔːgən| [See quot. 1960.] The proprietary name of an electric organ produced by the Hammond Organ Company, in which sounds are produced by generating and combining electric currents of suitable frequencies; applied also to similar instruments; also ellipt. as Hammond.
