Harderian, a. Anat.|hɑːˈdɪərɪən| [f. the name of J. J. Harder (Swiss anatomist 1656–1711) + -ian.] Harderian gland: the lubricating gland of the nictitating membrane or ‘third eyelid’, in the inner angle of the eye of birds and some mammals.
