Hashimite, a. and n.|ˈhæʃɪmaɪt| Also Hashemite. [f. the name of Hāšim, great-grandfather of Muhammad + -ite1.] A. adj. Of, pertaining to, or characteristic of the Hashimites. B. n. A member of an Arabian princely family claiming descent from Hashim.
