Havarti, n. Brit. |həˈvɑːti|, U.S. |həˈvɑrdi| Forms: also with lower-case initial. [‹ Danish Havarti (1952 or earlier) ‹ the name of Havarthigård, a farm in Zealand, Denmark, famous for the manufacture of cheese from the 19th cent.] A mild, pale yellow, semi-soft Danish cheese, similar to Tilsit. Also more fully Havarti cheese.
