‖ helichrysum|hɛlɪˈkraɪsəm| Also -os, -on. [L., helichrȳsum, also helichrȳsos = Gr. ἑλίχρῡσος, f. ἕλιξ spiral + χρῡσός gold.] 1. A creeping plant with yellow flowers, so called by the ancients: variously identified as Gnaphalium stœchas and Tanacetum annuum.
