1865–72Watts Dict. Chem. III. 141 Helmintholite, a variety of limestone, generally of a dark colour, and distinguished by the beautiful red and green iridiscence of the fossil shells which it contains. It is found in Carinthia, at Halle in the Tyrol, and other localities, and is made into a variety of ornamental articles. |
