hemicyclic, a. Bot.|hɛmɪˈsɪklɪk| [ad. F. hémicyclique (Littré), ad. Gr. ἡµικυκλικ-ός, f. ἡµικύκλιον (see prec.).] Applied to flowers which have the parts arranged spirally in such a manner that the transition from one series to another (e.g. from petals to stamens) occurs at the completion of a turn of the spiral; also to those which have some parts arranged spirally (acyclic) and others in whorls (cyclic).
