Henoch|ˈhiːnɒx| The name of E. H. Henoch (1820–1910), German pædiatrician, used in the possessive and occas. attrib. to designate esp. purpura associated with abdominal symptoms, as Henoch('s) purpura; also used attrib., in combination with the name of Schönlein (see Schönlein), to designate purpura associated with both the abdominal symptoms of Henoch's purpura and the articular symptoms of Schönlein's purpura, as Henoch–Schönlein (or Schönlein–Henoch) purpura, syndrome.
