单词 heptane
释义 heptane Chem.|ˈhɛpteɪn|
[f. hepta- + -ane, formative of the names of paraffins.]
The paraffin of the heptacarbon series, having the formula C7H16. ‘Of these hydrocarbons nine are possible and four are known’ (Fownes' Chem. 1877).
1877Watts Fownes' Chem. (ed. 12) II. 49 Normal heptane, CH3{b1}(CH2)5{b1}CH3, is contained in Pennsylvanian petroleum, and in the light oils of Boghead and Cannel coal.1880W. A. Miller's Elem. Chem. (ed. 5) 196 Of the heptylene from normal heptane..somewhat less than one half combines with cold hydrochloric acid, producing a heptylic chloride.
So heptene |ˈhɛptiːn| [see -ene], the olefine of the heptacarbon series (C7H14), also called ˈheptylene, homologous and polymeric with ethene (C2H4); it is known to exist in three isomeric forms; heptine |ˈhɛptaɪn| [see -ine], the hydrocarbon of the same series (C7H12), homologous with acetylene or ethine; hepˈtoic a., applied to fatty acids, aldehydes, etc. belonging to the heptacarbon series, as heptoic acid, C7H14O2; heptyl |ˈhɛptɪl| [see -yl], the hydrocarbon radical (C7H15), of heptylic or œnanthylic alcohol and its derivatives; hence hepˈtylic a.; ˈheptylaˌmine (see amine). Hence heptaˈnoic acid, œnanthic acid, CH3·(CH2)5·COOH; hepteˈnoic acid, any of several monocarboxylic acids, C6H11COOH, having one double bond.
1865–72Dict. Chem. (1882) III. 144 Chloride of *heptyl (C7H15Cl) is a colourless liquid having an agreeable fruity odour, and burning with a smoky green-bordered flame.Ibid. 295 Of these acids, one only is accurately known. viz. Normal *Heptoic or Œnanthylic acid.Ibid. 145 Preparation of *Heptylic alcohol from Castor-oil.Ibid. 147 When distilled with caustic potash, it yields *heptylamine (C7H17N) as a light oily liquid, having an ammoniacal aromatic odour.Ibid. 148 *Heptylene is a colourless mobile liquid, having a peculiar alliaceous odour.1873Fownes' Chem. (ed. 11) 607 Another heptyl alcohol was separated from fusel oil.1877Watts Fownes' Chem. (ed. 12) II. 59 *Heptene, or Heptylene..also called œnanthylene..occurs in the light oils from Boghead and Cannel tar.1877Watts Fownes' Chem. (ed. 6) 196 When the isomeric paraffins, normal heptene, ethyl-isoamyl..are treated with chlorine, mono⁓chlorinated paraffins are produced.1889Muir & Morley Watts' Dict. Chem. II. 676/1 Heptenoic acid C7H12O2.1928Chem. Abstr. XXII. 5909 (index) Heptanoic acid. See Enanthic acid.1948A. W. Ralston Fatty Acids ii. 86 None of the heptenoic acids has been identified in the naturally occurring fats and oils.1964N. G. Clark Mod. Org. Chem. xvi. 317 By heating the heptonic acid with hydriodic acid and red phosphorus, (n-)heptanoic acid is produced.
