allamanda, Alla-|æləˈmændə| Also erron. alamanda, alamander. [mod.L. (Linnæus 1771), f. the name of the Swiss scientist J. N. S. Allamand.] A plant of the genus so named of apocynaceous trees of tropical America, cultivated for their large funnel-shaped yellow flowers.
