1877H. Watts Fownes' Man. Elem. Chem. (ed. 12) II. 63, β Allylene, or allene, CH2{b2}CH{b2}CH2 [sic], is formed..by the electrolysis of itaconic acid. 1930Jrnl. Amer. Chem. Soc. LII. 4540 No record exists concerning the behavior of methylacetylene, CH3—C{b3}CH , at high temperatures. Except for Lebedev's work, the same may be said for allene, CH2{b2}C{b2}CH2 . 1968A. A.
