† alˈmight, a. Obs. Forms: 1 ælmiht, 4 alle myght, 4–5 almyȝt, al-, allmyght, almicht, (5 almyth), 6 almycht, 4–6 almight. [f. all + might, which is here probably the pa. pple. of may in original sense to ‘have power.’] = almighty. (Long the commoner form in poetry.)
