▪ I. † humet, n.1 Her. Obs. Also 6 h(e)umette. (See also hawmed.) [? a. OF. *heaumet dim. of heaume the bar of the helm or rudder.] A fess or bar so couped that its extremities do not touch the sides of the shield.
