Huyghenian, a.|haɪˈgiːnɪən| [f. Huyghen-s (see prec.) + -ian.] Of or pertaining to Christiaan Huygens, a Dutch mathematician and astronomer (1629–95). Huyghenian eyepiece, a negative eyepiece of an optical instrument invented by Huygens, consisting of two plano-convex lenses, with their plane sides towards the eye.
