hydrochlorothiazide Pharm.|ˌhaɪdrəʊklɔərəʊˈθaɪəzaɪd| [f. hydro- + chlorothiazide.] A white crystalline powder which is a diuretic and saluretic sulphonamide drug, C7H8ClN3O4S2, analogous to chlorothiazide, and which is given orally in the treatment of œdema and as an adjuvant in the treatment of hypertension.
