uredine, n. and a. Bot.|jʊˈriːdaɪn| [f. the pl. uredines (in place of the correct sing. uredo), or mod.L. Uredine-æ, f. L. ūrēdin-is, ūrēdo.] 1. n. A fungus of the N.O. Uredineæ of minute ascomycetal fungi (including mildew, rust, smut, etc.), parasitic upon and frequently injurious to living plants.
