hyoscyamine Chem.|haɪəʊˈsaɪəmaɪn| [f. next + -ine.] An extremely poisonous alkaloid (C17H23NO3), obtained from the seeds of Hyoscyamus niger and some other Solanaceæ, isomerous with atropine; used in medicine as a sedative.
