urtite, n. Petrogr.|ˈɜːtaɪt| [ad. G. Urtit (W. Ramsay 1896, in Geologiska Föreningens i Stockholm Förhandl. XVIII. 459), f. the name of Lujavr-Urt (now Lovozero), a lake in the Kola Peninsula, Russia: see -ite.] A light-coloured crystalline rock of the ijolite series, composed predominantly of nepheline and containing some sodic pyroxene.
