hypobranchial, a. and n. Anat.|hɪpəʊ-, haɪpəʊˈbræŋkɪəl| [f. hypo- 2 + branchial. Cf. F. hypobranche.] a. adj. Situated under the branchiae or gills. b. n. pl. The lower portion of the branchial arch.
