† hyponitric, a. Chem. Obs.|hɪpəʊ-, haɪpəʊˈnaɪtrɪk| [f. hypo- 5 + nitric.] In hyponitric acid, an old name for tetroxide (or peroxide) of nitrogen, pernitric oxide, NO2 or N2O4.
