[f. Gr. Ὑψιστάρι-ος (f. ὕψιστος highest; see def.) + -an.]
a. adj. Belonging to an eclectic sect of the 4th century, so called from worshipping God under the name of the Most High (ὕψιστος).
b. n. A member of this sect.
