hysteretic, a.|hɪstəˈrɛtɪk| [Prob. f. hysteresis after such pairs as synthesis, synthetic and prosthesis, prosthetic; but cf. Gr. ὑστερητικός ‘which comes on later’.] Of, pertaining to, or exhibiting hysteresis.
