a. The special form of crystallin or globulin found in the blood-corpuscles.
b. ‘A name given to hæmoglobin when it is obtained in a crystalline condition’ (Syd. Soc. Lex. 1886).
1863–72Watts Dict. Chem., Hæmato-crystallin, a crystalline substance obtained from blood. It has the composition of the albuminoids, and, if quite pure, would probably be colourless. 1872J. H.
