iconomachy|aɪkəˈnɒməkɪ| [ad. eccl. L. īconomachia, a. eccl. Gr. εἰκονοµαχία, f. εἰκών icon + -µαχία fighting.] A war against images; hostility or opposition to images, esp. to their use in connexion with worship.
