vario-coupler Electr. ? Obs.|ˈvɛərɪəʊkʌplə(r)| Also variocoupler. [f. vari- + -o + coupler.] A device, consisting of two unconnected coils, one inside the other, whose relative position can be altered to vary the mutual inductance between two circuits.
