varlamoffite Min.|vɑːləˈmɒfaɪt| [a. F. varlomoffite (H. Buttgenbach Les Minéraux de Belgique et du Congo Belge (1947) 182), f. the name of N. Varlamoff, mining engineer who found the mineral: see -ite1.] A yellowish cryptocrystalline powdery material, perhaps (Sn,Fe) (O,OH)2, that is related to or perhaps identical with cassiterite.
