Velcro|ˈvɛlkrəʊ| Also velcro. [f. F. vel(ours cro(ché hooked velvet.] A proprietary name for a fabric made in narrow strips for use as a fastener, one strip having tiny loops and the other hooks so that they can be fastened or unfastened simply by pressing together or pulling apart.
