amantadine Pharm.|əˈmæntədiːn| [f. alteration of adamantane + amine.] A derivative, C10H17N.HCl, of adamantane which inhibits the action of some viruses, and is used prophylactically against influenza type A2 and also in the treatment of Parkinsonism. Also amantadine hydrochloride.
