1. Indentation (of the edge of anything).
1671Grew Anat. Pl. v. §4 Yet is the top of the Empalement indented also; that the Indentments, by being lapp'd over the Leaves before their expansion, may then protect them. 1713in Connect. Colon. Rec. (1870) V. 389 There must be new cut on this larger plate, the words on the indentment at the head of each bill.
2. An indenture, covenant.
