[a. G. indigoid (P. Friedländer 1908, in Ber. d. Deut. Chem. Ges. XLI. 773): see indigo n. (a) and -oid.]
Of a dye: similar to indigotin in chemical structure, spec. in having another atom or atoms, esp. of sulphur, in place of one or both of the imino-groups. Hence as n., an indigoid dye.
