vincristine Pharm.|vɪnˈkrɪstiːn| [f. as vinblastine + leuco)cristine (former name of the drug), perh. f. leukaemia + -ro- + crista + -ine5.] A cytotoxic alkaloid, C46H56N4O10, obtained from the periwinkle Catharanthus roseus and administered intravenously (usu. as the sulphate) in the treatment of acute leukæmia and other cancers.
