viomycin Pharm.|vaɪəʊˈmaɪsɪn| [f. vio-, of unkn. origin + -mycin.] A bacteriostatic antibiotic, C25H43N13O10, produced by several species of bacterium which has been given as an alternative drug in the treatment of tuberculosis, usu. by intramuscular injection of the sulphate.
