‖ inga Bot.|ˈɪŋgə| [ad. ingá, engá, native name in Brazil (see quot. 1869).] 1. A genus of plants allied to the Mimosa (N.O. Leguminosæ), consisting of large shrubs or trees, for the most part native to South America, with red, yellow, or white flowers and pinnate leaves.
