Vitaphone Chiefly U.S.|ˈvaɪtəfəʊn| Also vitaphone. [f. L. vita life + phone n.1.] A process of sound film recording in which the sound track is recorded on discs and played in synchronization with the projection of the film; also, sound films made by this method. Now disused.
