Hermann's term for a hypothetical complex substance supposed to exist in muscular fibre and to be the energy-yielding substance of muscle.
Supposed to be decomposed during muscular contraction into carbonic and sarcolactic acids and myosin (Syd. Soc. Lex. 1886).
