vonsenite Min.|ˈvɒnsənaɪt| [f. the name of Marcus Vonsen (1879–1954), U.S. amateur mineralogist who collected the original material + -ite1.] A borate of ferrous and ferric iron, FeII2FeIIIBO5, that occurs as black, lustrous, orthorhombic crystals and is the magnesium-free end-member of a series with ludwigite.
